Budapest’s newest state-of-the-art cultural, entertainment and shopping center opened in 2013. Located on the Banks of the Danube near Liberty Bridge and the Central Market Hall and situated halfway between the Black Forest and the Black Sea at the Danube's symbolic middle, the CET (Central European Time) is the place to be. It offers galleries, exhibitions, shops, cafés, restaurants and much more.
Designed by Dutch architect Kas Oosterhuis, an advocate for interactive and living building concepts, CET is a perfect blend of old and modern. The contemporary design is combined with two beautifully restored historic warehouses from 1881. Due to its shape CET is called Bálna (whale) in Hungarian.
Getting to CET: Take Streetcars 2, 47 or 49 to Fővám tér
Opening Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8 am to midnight
Friday - Sunday: 8 am to 2 am
