No meio do Øyfjord no norte encontra-se a incrível ilha Husøy, uma pequena ilhota que abriga a comunidade pesqueira mais ativa de Senja e algumas centenas de habitantes permanentes. As casas mais antigas ficaram com arames para suportar os fortes ventos. Até poucos anos atrás, a ilha só podia ser alcançada de barco. Hoje, Husøy está ligado ao continente por um quebra-mar e um túnel.
