The Museum of Electrotechnics (Magyar Elektrotechnikai Múzeum) showcases Hungary's pioneering role in electrical engineering, including Hungarian inventions, like the first electric motor (Ányos Jedlik) and generators for electric locomotives (Kálmán Kandó). The museum's permanent exhibits include neon signs, a collection of early electrical household items, various lighting technologies and more. A former 1930s Bauhaus-style transformer station houses the museum.
Getting to the Museum of Electrotechnics: Take subway (M2) or streetcar 47 or 49 to Astoria or Deák tér and take the short walk over to Kazinczy utca

Tuesday - Friday: 10 am to 5 pm
Saturday: 9 am to 4 pm
Entrance fees:
Adult: HUF 500
Child, student & senior: HUF 250
