In Vienna city center, go on a virtual journey through the history of Vienna at "Time Travel Vienna".
The location is historic, the ambience modern: in the cellar vaults of the Salvatorianerkloster on Habsburgergasse, you can go on a trip through the centuries. It starts with a 5D cinema, which transports visitors back to the time of Roman Vienna. Also on the program: the Plague in Vienna with (experience it up close and personal!) a plaque of rats and the second Turkish siege of Vienna in 1683.
The Emperor Maximilian I., Franz Joseph and his Sisi as well as Maria Theresia (in the form of animatronic figures) are the stars of the "Habsburg Show", which takes a tongue-in-cheek look back at the history of their family. In the "Ballroom", Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauß deliver a verbal exchange of blows. Carousels and waltz music provide a festive atmosphere.
Other themes include the two world wars and the signing of the State Treaty on 15 May 1955. The show is rounded out with an interactive carriage ride through Vienna. The carriage "flies" and rides over the Imperial Palace, Stadtpark, State Opera to Schönbrunn and the Prater.
The total of seven stops are equipped with the latest show and effects technology. A "tour" through the virtual 1,300 m² history adventure world in Vienna's underground lasts about 50 minutes. The show is in German (audio guides in 10 languages). Tours in English every hour starting at 10.40 am.
